I remember when I first met angelo. It must have been over ten years ago. Probably 1987 or 88. It was in dallas, texas.
I helped him get some screw for his horn and we started talking. He told me that they had made a video for MTV that got rejected because there were no white people in it.
I couldn't believe that. Obviouslly fishbone isn't a black power band -- but, who cares if they were. Why did MTV say white people _had_ to be in the video.
I've taken notice after that and i never saw a video that didn't have at least some white people in it.
Odd.

Fri, February 13, 2004 - 5:51 AMSad but true story. If there were no white people, they would be excludiung the biggest majority of listeners. Not to mention if a white parent saw their kid watching a video of just african-americans, many would not be fond of it. Sad but true.
I remember meeting Angelo about 10 years ago up here in Boston. They were loading up the buses/vans, and one of the guys asked us for a hand. We helped haul thier gear ontp the buses, and for payment-Angelo had a beer with us sneakily behind a dumpster so noone could find us (Iwas only 18). He was one of the funnest, nicest people to hang out with.
